Breastfeeding + Baby Sleep

When you bring home a brand new baby, your world is literally turned upside down. You are beyond blissful for having this sweet new little baby, but you’re also learning how to be a parent for the first time or how to be a parent of multiple children for the first time. No matter how prepared you think you are, there’s a learning curve involved and everyone is exhausted, especially you, mama! And even more so if you are breastfeeding! Breastfeeding and baby sleep was a popular topic requested by YOU, so I want to share my experience. I’m by no means a baby sleep expert, but I WILL share some tips that really worked for us, as well as...

How to Look Put Together in 10 Minutes or Less (When in Reality, You Feel Like a Hot Mess)

I don’t know about you mamas, but I felt and looked like a hot mess 99.99% of the time during my maternity leave. And you best believe I had PLENTY of visitors, far more than I was expecting or was really interested in having. And by “I” had visitors…I mean Mason did! But even though everyone came to see the baby, I got tired of always looking like a wreck. It wasn’t even a vanity thing –it was more just not feeling like myself. REAL TALK: Newborns + Nursing with Jessa Le Louie

I spent some time today with my dear mama friend, Jessa Le Louie. When I became a mom, I started asking my mom friends who had babies before me for ALL the advice, especially with feeding. There’s just something about turning to a trusted friend who has been there before you! I was lucky enough to have Mason about 6 months before Jessa had her baby, Olive, and be able to be that friend for her at first. Now, as our babies are a little bit older, we’ve evolved to just feel like...

3 Tips for Less Stress in Getting Dressed

I graduated from college...awhile ago (ha..trying not to date myself here!) and simultaneously had no idea and lots of ideas of what I wanted to do with my life. While I was figuring it out, I somehow ended up as a personal stylist. This didn’t have anything to do with what I THOUGHT I wanted to do or what I earned my degree in, but I loved it and I’m so happy for that experience because it led me here! So, mamas, who has a hard time finding clothes that fit your new mom bod? And make it easy to nurse and pump? And are actually cute and made you feel good? Tall order, right? Well, once Ailana J. officially...

Mama’s First Day of Work.

In honor of Labor Day Weekend, let's chat about my first day back to work after maternity leave. A new mom’s first day back to work from maternity leave isn’t typically something that is celebrated. We don’t take pictures in our “first day of work” outfit with a sign notating the date or what not, like parents do on their kids’ first day of school. But it’s a BIG. DEAL. We SHOULD be proud of the outfit we managed to put together for our first day. We should be proud that we made it out of the house in something presentable at all! My first day back to work was a whirlwind of emotions. First off, my baby decided to...
