Hands-Free vs Traditional: What Pump to Use at a Wedding

I’m back! ICYMI: we skipped a week on the Ailana J. blog because I was Maid of Honor in my college bestie’s wedding last week! There were a lot of festivities, planning, and traveling that had to be done last week, but now I’m back! And I’m ready to go into even MORE detail and give you the inside scoop on pumping at weddings. In my last post, I spilled all my secrets to pumping at a wedding (check out that post HERE). This week, I’m going to give you my humble opinion on WHAT TYPE of pump you should use at a wedding (or any big event!). First of all, a lot of mamas love a manual pump for...

A Pumping Pro’s Guide to Pumping at a Wedding

It is MID-JUNE, which means wedding season is in FULL SWING, y’all. Plus, COVID restrictions “fully” lifted in California yesterday and I know our social calendars are getting a little back to normal. I know mine definitely is - I am so excited to be maid of honor for one of my college besties next week! He was having some major breathing issues, which the hospital called acute respiratory failure – if that doesn’t scare the you-know-what out of any mama or parent, I don’t know what does. The good news is we live down the street from an amazing children’s hospital and he’s been doing well at home the last couple of days. But, last night over dinner, my husband asked me what my biggest learnings were from our week in the hospital with Mason. And, while I sincerely hope none of you ever have to experience what we experienced, I...
